The Shopping Cart (Post-Xmas/January)

The Shopping Cart

One of my most popular series - The Shopping Cart - is back for another year! It's been a hot minute since the last one, but between the trip & conserving my pennies get the drill.

In case you're new to this blog, The Shopping Cart is where I round up all my purchases for your voyeuristic pleasure & tell you about each of them. As always, any sales or links mentioned in this post are correct at the time of publishing. If by chance those links are broken or sales are no longer happening by the time you read this post, then I can't nor won't be held responsible.

20 Things I Learnt From My First Solo Trip

travel, quotes

1. Solo travel is fun - all that time to yourself to do what you want to do, when you want to do it - but it can also be lonely at times, especially when you realise how much you miss conversation. Sometimes I'd be babbling to shopkeepers because I was tired of being quiet. During my 8-night London stay, I got so used to having company around that when my brother ditched me on our last night to go out with someone else, I felt a little upset to be honest.

TNL Takes a Trip: Carnival Legend - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

via Wikipedia
I know it's been a hot minute since the last TNL Takes a Trip installment; but in all honesty, I haven't felt like writing this post because (a) I'm about to get all ranty-pants on you & (b) I've wondered how on earth to condense a 17-night cruise into a blog post without boring the shit out of everyone. However, they say "there's a solution to every problem" & I've found mine. Just warning you now: this is going to be a looooooooong post!

Before I start, I'll add that this was the 8th cruise that I've been on in my lifetime & whilst I don't consider myself a seasoned cruiser, I've certainly been on enough of them to know what to expect in terms of entertainment, food, decor & the like & in those areas, the ship that John West rejected Carnival Legend was a complete & utter letdown. I'll also add that the ship stopped in Papeéte, Moorea & Bora Bora (Tahiti/French Polynesia), Suva (Fiji) & Nouméa (New Caledonia), just so you have a guide of where I went.

Swatch & Review: bareMinerals - The Bare Neutrals + The Sexy Neutrals Palettes

Bare Minerals, makeup, eyeshadow, eyeshadow palettes

I haven't reviewed makeup on this ol' bloggy blog before, but I know someone (at least) was curious about the bareMinerals palettes I hauled whilst overseas last year; so today I'm gonna swatch & review both the Bare Neutrals & Sexy Neutrals palettes for you all. There's 2 others in this "Neutrals" palette range (Power Neutrals & Posh Neutrals), but neither of them tickled my fancy.

EDIT 2/8/17: I've just discovered these palettes are now available at Mecca stores & online! They're retailing for $58AUD each, if you're interested in picking one up.

My Intentions For 2017

2017 intentions

Hola mi amigas & happy 2017!

For my first post of the year, I'm gonna talk about my intentions for the year ahead. (I know I'm a bit late with all of this, but whatevs.) Not resolutions, not goals, but intentions. As I mentioned in last year's intentions post (of which I only achieved 2 or 3...oops), I loathe the words "resolutions" & "goals" because (a) the former can be easily broken & (b) the word "goals" freaks me out for some reason. At least with intentions, I can put it out there without so much pressure to fulfil them.....that's how I see it!
