Hola mi amigas & happy Thursday!
I realise both November & December are done & dusted for another year, but I wanted to wait until I got back to post this round of empties, just in case I finished anything while I was away.
I won't waffle any further, so let's get into it:
Ecoya Cherry Blossom & Tuberose large candle
This is yet another limited edition candle that Ecoya brought out either sometime early 2016 or late 2015, I can't remember. It took me ages to get around to burning it, as well as finish it up. In the end I wasn't a fan of the scent as much as I was when I bought it. I think the scent might've got lost in the wax because half the time I felt as though I was just smelling candle wax. Repurchase? Wouldn't even if I could.
Trilogy Cream Cleanser
You guys know I use this stuff; it's my staple cleanser. Repurchase? I did at the last Priceline sale, but then broke the bottle on my bathroom floor as I went to snap it for my current PM skincare routine post. I have since bought a smaller size to tide me over until the next sale, which should be coming up soon.
Essano Micellar Soothing Sensitive Wipes
Hello new favourite facial wipes! These are definitely replacing WOTNOT as my new favourite facial wipes of choice. Everything I said in my Essano brand review about these babies still stands. Repurchase? You bet, but not until the next Priceline skincare sale as they're not cost effective sadly.
Bondi Sands Coffee, Coconut & Bubblegum Body Scrub
Keen readers might remember me getting this in my beautyheaven 10th birthday goody bag & I have to say I wasn't a fan of this at all. Firstly, the scent was just weird (whoever decided coffee, coconut & bubblegum would make a great combo needs their head checked) & the scrub itself I found was too gritty & not moisturising enough. I'll be sticking to my homemade body scrub in future. Repurchase? No amount of money in the world would make me want to buy this.
Napali Pink Grapefruit & Strawberry small candle
Another one of my 2017 birthday purchases. Compared to the Raspberry Sorbet & Vanilla candle I finished in the last empties, this candle's scent throw was pretty meh. I liked the scent of course (who wouldn't love something that smelt like pink champagne & strawberries?), but I prefer something with a better scent throw. Repurchase? Probably not, but I'd like to see how a larger size would go though.
Carmex lip balm
Staple lip balm for me atm, you guys see it all the time. Repurchase? I think I have a back-up or 2 lying around.
Lanolips Rose Everyday Hand Cream
Another staple for me, which you see all the time. Repurchase? Already have, always will (well, until I find another HG hand cream....or Priceline begin re-stocking my beloved Botani hand cream).
In terms of chuck-out items, my Eye of Horus Metallic Liquid Liner in Imperial Bronze is going in the bin, not because it's dried out but because it is out of date according to the date it has on the side (31/3/17). I've had it for ages courtesy of a beautorium order I did in 2016, but didn't get around to opening it until the end of November 2017. All I'll say is I love the colour (it certainly pops my blue eyes) & I found it easy to use strangely (despite being a makeup numpty); but as I mentioned in my 2017 beauty discoveries post, I experienced a little bit of irritation on my eyelids & around my lower lash line as well. I'm not sure if it was because the product had expired, or whether it has to do with "alcohol" being one of the top 10 ingredients. It hasn't happened since, nor do I recall it happening with the Alchemy Gold version I purchased at the last beautorium. Anyway, I have since re-purchased it.
Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm
My 2nd jar of this stuff. This one managed to last a lot longer than my 1st jar - around 9-12 months from memory. I've already babbled on about my love for this stuff before; I need not repeat myself. Repurchase? You bet!
Burts Bees Coconut Foot Cream
My HG foot cream, although their Peppermint Foot Cream is wonderful too. Repurchase? Just cracked open the 2nd tube I bought back in 2016.
La Mav Rose Hydrating Mist
Technically this isn't quite finished because I decanted the rest of it into my travel spray bottle for my Christmas/New Year travels, but I'm going to cheat & declare it empty anyway. Repurchase? Already have.
Healthy Essentials Dairy Free Probiotics
I gave up on using these for a while because I was considering buying Carla Oates' GLOW Beauty Powder supplement around my birthday, but didn't end up buying it for some reason. I think the price-to-amount-of-content ratio didn't tickle my fancy. Anyway, these were quite hard to find for a time, but thankfully now that they're back in my life I doubt I'll be without them. Probiotics are the 1 supplement I really need as my gut is a bit, shall we say, funny at times & I find this particular probiotic helps settle things down. Repurchase? Already have x2.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
You'll remember me saying how I use this in my current AM skincare routine & well, it hasn't let me down yet. I discovered along the way that if I put this serum underneath a Vitamin C serum, my sensitive & somewhat reactive skin will actually tolerate Vitamin C. Wonderful, right? Also pretty sure this stuff helped save my bacon last Winter too in terms of hydration. Repurchase? Already have, but I think this might be the last one as I might try Buffet next, purely because Buffet also contains peptides from memory & I'm all over that ish.
Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Powder (travel size)
You might remember me smuggling this home after my big trip in 2016 & it's taken me forever to use it because, well, I'm not a fan. This reminded me a bit of Alpha-H's Gentle Daily Exfoliant (which I reviewed here), except it felt grittier due to the rice particles in it. It was also a bit foamy, which was strange considering I didn't see any foaming agents listed in the ingredients. I'm glad I bought the smaller size as Tatcha is another exxy AF brand. Repurchase? Nup, didn't do anything for me.
Orly Flash Dry Drops
My God this bottle took forever to finish! I think it took at least 15 months all up...then again you only need 1-2 drops per nail each time you use it. These are the only drying drops I've ever used & it'll remain that way probably, despite Orly not being readily accessible in Australia. I bought 2 bottles of this stuff whilst in the States back in 2016, so I'm ok for now. Repurchase? Currently onto my 2nd bottle, after that who knows.
Andalou Naturals Instant Luminous Turmeric & Gold Clay mask (single use)
Another regular in my empties & another product I've professed my love for previously. I really wish AN would make this in a larger size because I'd be all over it....and then I wouldn't have to waste sticky tape in order to stop this from drying out so quickly. Repurchase? Got 1 more to go.
Avéne Spot Treatment Pen
Another empties staple of mine & handy whenever a zit crops up. Repurchase? Already have.
Carmex lip balm
Yep, another one, but this one was in my handbag & I ran out of this when I got to New Zealand over the Christmas/New Year period. Again, it's a staple item, you guys see it all the time. Repurchase? Made an emergency purchase in NZ, still got 1 or 2 pots lying around.
Also going in the bin are 2 half-used/almost empty tubes of Lanolips' original 101 Ointment (not pictured). Regulars around here will know about my well-documented issues with this lip balm; but if you don't, all I'll say is I began reacting to it early last year (it began to give me cold sore-like growths on my lips) & had to stop using it for that reason. That said I recently bought the Coconutter version & I'm hoping my lips will tolerate that a lot better. Fuck my body & its ever-changing biology....
