Empties Time! (March)

Hola mi amigas & happy Fri-yay the 13th! Ooh spoooooooky....

So you know how I normally roll over my empties & do a bi-monthly post? Well somehow I managed to finish a lot more stuff than usual in March & didn't feel like hanging onto my empty shit for the rest of April, so you're getting this post a month early. Surprise!

Let's get into it:

Ecoya Guava & Lychee Sorbet large candle
I really don't know how long I've had this candle for but all I know is that I bought it when it was limited edition & its long since become a permanent candle in the Ecoya range, so that says something. Anyway, I adore this fruity scent & it had a pretty decent scent throw, albeit faded once I got towards the end. I'm such a fan of this scent that I gave a mini candle to my hairdresser last Christmas & it would seem that she loves it too. Repurchase? More than likely.

bhave rescue intense repair conditioner
Would you believe I just finished this stuff right at the beginning of March? It should have been in my last empties post, but alas it didn't make it. Anyway, all you need to know is I love this stuff & if you haven't tried it already, do it! Repurchase? Already have.

La Mav Rose Hydrating Mist
Also another semi-regular in these posts of mine & still my #1 facial mist. Repurchase? Already have & always will methinks.

Aspect Extreme B17 Serum (full size)
Yet again I am so sad to have finished this up. Seriously good stuff in terms of how it has helped my skin - from reducing redness, to reducing the appearance of my forehead scar, to reducing the look of pigmentation - but also seriously expensive if you're on a budget. I'm now using The Ordinary's Niacinamide + Zinc serum & whilst I do miss this baby, it is nice to know that I've got a cheaper substitute when I run out. Repurchase? You bet I will, but only once I have enough coin to do so.

Lanolips Rose Everyday Hand Cream
Another regular in my empties box, you guys know the drill. Repurchase? Already have.

Trilogy Cream Cleanser (100mL size)
Also another regular in my empties box, except this time around I bought the smaller size to tide me over until the Priceline skincare sale back in February as I'd accidentally smashed my fuller bottle all over my bathroom floor. Cleaning that up wasn't fun. Repurchase? Already have.

Trilogy Very Gentle Moisturising Cream
Another semi-regular in the empties department & the only facial moisturiser I'll use. Repurchase? Already have because finally - FINALLY - Priceline are selling it.

Healthy Essentials Dairy Free Probiotics
My staple probiotics. It never ceases to amaze me just how calm these probiotics make my gut feel when it's chucking a whammy over something I ate or drank. 💙💙💙 these. Repurchase? Already have, can't live without them!

The Beauty Chef GLOW Inner Beauty Powder sachets x3
This isn't strictly a beauty item; but since I include supplements in my empties posts & this is a supplement of sorts, I'm throwing it in here. As I mentioned in the last Shopping Cart post, I'd been eyeing this product off for years but couldn't justify spending $60 odd on a jar of it (which only lasts 30 days anyway); so when David Jones started selling the sachets I jumped on it.

2 things you ought to know about this stuff: 1. It smells like berry-flavoured soft drink, or berry-flavoured Berocca. It just has this "fizzy" smell to it, which I think is due to citric acid being one of the ingredients & 2. It makes me burp, or want to burp, after consumption. It's for those 2 reasons that I'm not a fan of it, plus it only contains 1 billion probiotics & I'm used to taking a stronger probiotic supplement (as mentioned above). I also found this stuff makes my skin purge a little too. With that said I'm glad I tried it, if only to save my pennies down the track. Repurchase? I still have 2 more sachets to use up but I can't bring myself to do it due to the taste & the effects it gives me, so the sachets are going into another special giveaway pile I have for my real life beauty-loving amigas.

Justice Professional Smooth & Groom (sample)
I got this sample courtesy of beautyheaven's 10th birthday goody bag (or did the Justice crew give it to me on the day? I can't remember) & although it's taken me a while to use it up, here's my thoughts: it smelt pretty damn good & it seemed to do a good job of keeping my mane in check. I'm not entirely sure if it smoothed my hair at all but it didn't appear to weigh it down either, which is a bonus when you have hair like mine. In terms of hair products that I've tried from "drugstore" to discount salons (these guys sell in Just Cuts) to higher end salon stuff, this gel-like product is one of the best I've tried. Repurchase? I'm not sure if I could get through a full size of this, but I might think about it for the future. Will have to check first to see if it's cruelty-free.

Carmex lip balm pot
As I've said time & time again, I know this isn't cruelty-free but it did save my bacon when my lips went haywire all of a sudden early last year. Now that my pout seems to have calmed down & I'm not reacting to Lanolips' Coconutter 101 Ointment, I think I can safely bypass Carmex for good (hopefully). Repurchase? I'm still going through a pot that's in my handbag; but after that I won't be buying this again unless I'm absolutely desperate...and even then I'll try to find a CF alternative.

Also in the photo above is my almost empty tube of Lanolips Tinted SPF30+ lip balm in Rhubarb. I bought another one at the last Priceline skincare sale & this one, tbh, is getting old & probably isn't doing my lips any good either, so into the bin it goes.

Products Finished in March (including samples, candles & sachets): 13

Have you ever tried a supplement that didn't agree with you?

  1. My issue with supplements is that I've tried so many that I just haven't noticed a difference with

Indie// In Search of the Holy Grail

    1. I think some of them are quite gimmicky tbh, but I have felt a difference when taking probiotics & that's why I continue to take them (or at least take the ones I know work for me).
